Frequently Asked questions

E-liquids

What is an e-liquid and what is in it?

E-liquid, or vape juice, is the flavoured liquid used to fill a vape tank. When the coil heats the liquid, it transforms into vapour, which is then inhaled during vaping.

Our e-liquids are made from 3 main components:

  • Propylene Glycol (PG) is a synthetic compound that helps e-liquid ingredients blend together. It's flavourless, making it an ideal base for e-liquids without affecting taste. Higher PG levels, when mixed with VG, result in thinner liquids and reduced cloud production. PG is also commonly used as a food additive and preservative.

  • Vegetable Glycerine (VG) is an organic compound derived from oils like palm, soy, coconut, or rapeseed. Commonly used in foods, cosmetics, and medicines, VG adds thickness and smoothness to e-liquid and helps produce vapor clouds.

  • Natural and artificial flavourings the we use in e-liquids are classified as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) for human consumption. These flavourings give e-liquids their distinct tastes, from fruit to menthol to tobacco, catering to various preferences.

Nicotine, an optional ingredient, is the addictive component in cigarettes and e-cigarettes, though it's one of the least harmful parts of smoking. It acts as both a stimulant and a mild relaxant, and e-liquids are available in various nicotine strengths to meet different preferences.

What is the difference between Nic Salts and freebase e-liquids?

High PG, or freebase, e-liquids are designed for cigarette smokers who are looking to make a switch to the vapes. When smoking a high PG e-liquid with a high strength, you can feel a rough sensation on the back of the throat, like the sensation from smoking a cigarette. Nic salts, on the other hand, offer a much smoother vaping experience, delivering a strong and powerful nicotine rush without being harsh on the throat.

What strength e-liquid should I use?

S-Elf Juice nicotine salt e-liquids come in 5mg, 10mg, and 20mg nicotine strengths.

High PG freebase e-liquids come in 6mg, 12mg and 18mg nicotine strengths.

We also stock a range of nicotine free e-liquids.

For nic salts, we recommend strength based on how many disposables you go through. If you typically consume one or more disposable vapes per day, we suggest starting with 20mg. For lighter users, 10mg may be more appropriate.

For High PG freebase e-liquids, the nicotine strength is normally chosen based on recommendations for how many cigarettes you are currently smoking per day.

  • If you smoke more than 15 cigarettes a day - choose 18mg
  • If you smoke between 1 to 15 cigarettes a day - go for 12mg.

The 3mg and 6mg strengths are typically recommended for those who are gradually reducing their nicotine intake or are fully off cigarettes.

Please note that using the wrong nicotine strength in your e-liquid can lead to a nicotine overdose which can cause various side effects such as nausea and headaches. Alternatively, using a nicotine strength that’s too low might have you still craving cigarettes.

Vaping devices

What e-liquids are compatible with the AEQ devices?

We recommend the 50% VG / 50% PG e-liquids or vape juices with a slightly higher PG Ratio to be used with our AEQ 2.0 and QUB3D vape devices.

Our S-Elf Juice e-liquids are designed to go perfectly with the AEQ devices.

When should I replace the device pod?

Replacement pods have a variable lifespan, dependent on liquid, power and overall vaping device usage. Pods need to be replaced anywhere between 2-14 days based on these factors.
